In March 2021, the people of Ireland's Valentia Island were surprised by a unique visitor: a young, tired walrus, who would travel along the coast of Western Europe in the following months, regularly hoisting herself aboard small boats along the way. Why was this walrus so far from home? Did he fall asleep on an ice floe and drift, or did the melting sea ice in the Arctic force him south? It seems that we will increasingly share our habitat with animal species that we previously could only admire in zoos. How do we deal with that?
