Sisters Natalie and Sarah Schrauwen grew up with green thumbs and a healthy dose of playfulness and experimentation. They both studied Language and Literature and subsequently followed different paths. Natalie (born 1980) is the head of ELDER Lab and kombucha brewery BRON. She loves playing and experimenting with food until the sparks fly. She writes about food and nature, brews kombucha and other ferments for restaurants, and lectures on foraging, wood-fire cooking, fermentation, and everyday chemistry. Nature and science are her greatest sources of inspiration. Her mission is to share knowledge about all these subjects, enabling her to work with them more intuitively and playfully. www.elder-lab.com
Sarah (born 1988) studied Design for Visual Communication at the London College of Communication. After several years in the publishing world in London, she moved back to Antwerp to work as an independent book designer. Since 2021, she has been working with her husband, Mathieu Vancamp.
