The book about the iconic Antwerp Six

Forty years ago, a group of young designers from Antwerp achieved an international breakthrough: the legendary Antwerp Six. In 1986, Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs, and Marina Yee presented their collections at the British Designer Show in London. Their presentation was a resounding success: they secured a permanent place in the international fashion world and became known from then on as the Antwerp Six.

This book explores the unique creative journey that connects them and shows how each of them, with a distinct individual vision, brought about radical innovation in fashion. Stimulating essays by leading fashion experts, including Tim Blanks, Angelo Flaccavento, and Eugene Rabkin, together with a rich diversity of images, offer an in-depth look at the enduring influence of these iconic designers on the contemporary fashion landscape.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name at MoMu – ModeMuseum Antwerpen from March 28, 2026, to January 17, 2027.
