DETAILS
The Inuit are nomadic hunters who have roamed the Arctic for thousands of years. Until recently, their chances of survival depended on the animals they hunted, the stones still protruding above the frozen ground and the plants and berries growing in the midnight sun. They share their immense territory with a large number of animals, but also with spirits and the elements. But their existence has become uncertain in recent years due to climate change.
One evening, a young Inuit woman is separated from her family by a crack in the ice. Suddenly Uqsuralik is alone in the twilight and polar cold. In order to survive, she has no choice but to go further and seek refuge. And so, in extreme circumstances, she embarks on a quest through the vast Arctic that will reveal her inner world.
Stone and bone is a phenomenon in France, where it won the Prix du roman Fnac, the prize for the best French novel of the year. So far, 100,000 copies have been sold.
