Urban Art in Den Haag

Designed in HOLLAND

Let's do Goods socks are designed by artists with lived experience in the field of homelessness, addiction or psychiatry. They are also called outsider artists. Let's do Goods gives them a stage for their story and work on their socks.

On top of this, a pair of socks is donated to peoples in need for every pair of socks sold, in collaboration with The Salvation Army, Quiet, Food Banks and local partners.

Discover the artist Sebastian Urbanja:
Sebastian was born in 1970 and Haheden in heart and soul. Art, the creative and the creation thereof have been in his blood since childhood. He also made graffiti in the 1980s, but stopped doing so because of the high fines. He trained as a graphic designer and became a pioneer in the multi-media design field in the 1990s, with the rise of the internet. As a designer he also made a lot of work for multinationals, well-known discotheques, house parties and record labels. Painting has always continued on canvas as well as on clothing, shoes and objects. He is also no stranger to making jewellery, bags, objects and applied art. Sebastian is a multidisciplinary artist with an eclectic urban street art style and has collaborated extensively with well-known artists and clients. In the cafe he also often drew on beer mats together with Herman Brood. His many and long stays in different countries have inspired him in many ways.

Creating art has always been a common thread in his life. It is meditative and gives a kick. A kick that he no longer wants to get from his years of alcohol addiction and substance abuse. Unfortunately, this is also a common thread in Sebastian's life. It was actually from his early childhood a form of self-medication against psychological complaints, traumas, anxiety disorders and personality problems. A battle against alcohol that has been going on for years is one between life and death. But which has now come to an end thanks to tackling the problem at the root with the help of clinical and outpatient intensive treatments. Also during this process Sebastian has continued with his art and kept fighting. Giving up has never been an option. Sebastian: “I'm going faster with my art at the moment and I'm going full steam ahead…"
