Let's do Goods socks are designed by artists with lived experience in the field of homelessness, addiction or psychiatry. They are also called outsider artists. Let's do Goods gives them a stage for their story and work on their socks.
On top of this, a pair of socks is donated to peoples in need for every pair of socks sold, in collaboration with The Salvation Army, Quiet, Food Banks and local partners.
Discover the artist Clemens:
Dreams are not priceless. After drawing school and a graphic design training, Clemens ended up on the street. “He was not a sweetheart, but has always remained an honest and sincere person.” he says about it himself. Ultimately, a graffiti work on his own front door left him homeless. It turned out that he didn't really want that much, his dreams to experience the world didn't have to be priceless. With this thought Clemens decided to live on what he got from the people. What turned out? Every day he had to eat and every evening he was allowed to sleep somewhere inside, people are good. He walked 3000 kilometers across Europe and spent months in major cities such as Berlin and Warsaw. His journey eventually brought him to Nijmegen, where he lived on the streets for a while and regularly visited Het Kruispunt. He often visited The Atelier of Survival Art where he could make his graffiti art on canvases. The Crossroads regularly exhibits art by visitors, (former) homeless people, and also sells that art. Fortunately Clemens now has a good place to live again. This REBEL sock symbolizes the graffiti that ultimately made him make this journey.
REBEL is the tag Clemens uses as a graffiti artist. Rebellion against what according to our society should be and still remain a good person, that is the idea behind this tag.
